Roulette
Roulette comes from the term in French indicating a “small wheel”. The Legend wants that Roman soldiers withdrew the wheels of their carriage in order to make entertainments of them during campaigns, and others say that monks invented a play of wheel during the Middle Ages in China. In any event, the roulette was spread in Europe between the 18 and 19th century and more particularly in France and in Monte Carlo.
Today, the roulette is among the plays recognized internationally like a symbol of glamour, of excitation and prestige in casinos.
With the American roulette, the wheel is divided into 38 numbered boxes 0,00 and from 1 to 36, there are no 00 with the French roulette. The boxes with zero are green and the other numbers are red or black. The Wheel is made of wood polished, and turns around an axis. The croupier (dealer) throw the wheel in a direction and slackens a small ivory ball in the direction opposed on the edge external of the wheel where it will turn several times before stopping. The ball will go down gradually towards the center of the wheel, then it will fall into a box. It can rebound thereafter of box out of box to finish the play in one of the boxes of the wheel.
The fascination for this play comes in the various ways of placing the bets and from the excitation to follow the ball until it immobilizes.
To start To play.
The players place their setting against the house while placing the tokens on the printed numbers of the table. Once the total amount of the settings exceeds the minimal setting then the ball is released in the wheel. When the ball stops in one of the boxes then the bets are made.
The button “Spin” will remain inactive until a minimal setting is placed on the table. The players can place additional bets, to modify the bets placed or to change the tokens of place. Button “Re-Bet” will place the same bets as those carried out the preceding turn. Once the bets are placed, the players must click on the button “Spin” in order to launch the cylinder and to make fall the ball. After a few seconds, the ball will start to fall towards the center from the cylinder as it slows down. When the ball is immobilized in one of the boxes then the bets are closed.
The result of each pulling is posted on a table. The most recent results appear in bottom of the table.
The lost bets are removed from the table whereas the gaining bets are paid according to the following table:

Internal bets are settings placed inside the grid of the numbers printed on the table. They are composed of:
- Into Full the setting is placed on an individual number (like 00,8,21 or 33). The bets “Into Full” gaining are paid 35 per 1.
- Split the setting is placed on the line between two numbers (like 2 & 3, or 13 & 16). If the ball stops on one of the two numbers, the report/ratio is 17 per 1.
- Full transversal the setting is placed on the first vertical line of the grid of the numbers and opposite a horizontal column of three numbers (like 7,8,9). If the ball stops on one of the three numbers of the column, the report/ratio is 11 per 1.
- Triple place a bet on 3 numbers which are touched. The Triple bets are only (0,1,2),(0,2,00),(2,00,3). If the ball falls into one from the boxes concerning the Triple numbers, the bets are paid to 11 per 1.
- Corner the setting is placed at the intersection of four numbers (like 19,20,22,23).If the ball stops on one of the four numbers of this square, the report/ratio is 8 per 1.
- straight up the first five numbers in top of the grid (0,00,1,2,3). If the ball stops in the box of one of these five numbers, the report/ratio is 6 per 1. To make this bet, place your setting on the left, with the intersection of the first vertical line of the grid of numbers and horizontal line separating the 0,00 from the 1,2,3.
- Sizain is a group of six numbers in two column (for example 28,29,30 and 31,32,33).If the ball stops in the box of one of these six numbers, the report/ratio is 5 per 1. To make Sizain, the setting is placed at the intersection between the first vertical line of the grid of the numbers and the horizontal line separating two horizontal columns from three numbers.
External Bets are settings placed outside the grid of the numbers printed on the table. They are composed of:
- Columns a vertical column of numbers in the grid (for example, 3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30,33,36). You place your setting in bottom of the column and outside the grid. If one of the numbers of the column leaves the report/ratio then is 2 per 1. A column does not include the 0 or 00.
- Dozen is the first, the second or the third dozen except the 0,00 (respectively from 1 to 12, 13 to 24, 25 to 36). If one of the numbers of the dozen leaves the report/ratio then is 2 per 1.
- Red/Black you bet that the number which will leave will be is red, or black. The gaining bets are paid 1 per 1.
- Odd or Even you bet that the number which will leave will be is even, that is to say odd except for 0,00. The gaining bets are paid 1 per 1.
- Low half or high half you bet that the gaining number is is in the low half (1 to 18), maybe in the high half (19 to 36). The gaining bets are paid 1 per 1.
For example, if you had placed a bet gaining of 20$ on a full number (paid 35 per 1), you would obtain for your setting of 20$, 35 times your setting (700$) for a total of 720$. Another example: if you had placed a bet gaining of 100$ on the color Rouge (1 per 1), you would have received the amount of your initial setting is 100$ plus 100$ additional which make 200$ on the whole.
The players can’t staked any more but the maximum on no particular bet for each turn of the play. The roulette has two types of maximum limits: for the internal bets and the other for the external bets (see the table of the types of bets below). The maximum and minimal limits are posted. It should be noted that you can stake the maximum on more than one bet by turn.
